Phillip Allder - Artist BiographyPhillip Allder trained as a signwriter in Reading on leaving school in 1967. In 1982 he moved to Leeds where he worked in advertising. First as a finished artist, then a visualiser, then finally copywriting. He met his wife Gillian, a dentist, and in 1986 they moved to Kendal in Cumbria where she practices. They now live in a converted railway cottage with their two daughters who often feature in Phillips drawings and paintings.
His work in landscapes is inspired by his affinity with nature as a former climber and latterly as a fell-runner. However his more recent works have developed with a broader appeal and his stunning wildlife range which includes a wide variety of subjects from dogs to wolves, owls and leopards which are almost life-like in their detail. |
